Directors of the Week (Week 7): Steven Almazan & Rudy Sarmiento

Congratulations Steven Almazan & Rudy Sarmiento -
Directors of Latino/a Student Assembly!

Steven Almazan
LSA Executive Director
Communication & Psychology (2013)

Rudy Sarmiento
LSA Assistant Director
Political Science (2013)

LSA had a successful Latino Heritage Month (LHM) with events that included the Latin American Independence Celebration, the AMBULANTE Film Festival with Visions and Voices, LA Power Trip: El Pueblo De Los Angeles & Chinese American Museum, and Latino Leaders Fireside Chat Series: Mónica García. They also have one more event to end LHM, which is called “Late Night Art Project” on Oct. 11th 7pm – 9pm @ Ground Zero.  The entire LSA E-Board has done a phenomenal job this past semester and Steven knows they’re going to provide more quality events. You can view all of LSA’s past events and accomplishments on our website: www.usc.edu/lsa. Rudy has been involved with Program Board for 1.5 years. In addition to his first year on Program Board, Steven is involved as a Campus Campaign Coordinator for Teach for American, Undergraduate Representative for Visions and Voices Faculty Committee, and Editorial Intern for www.lakersnation.com.

What do you love about Program Board?

Steven: I love the energy and excitement that each PBer brings to the office! The people are the best part about this culture.

Rudy: YOU! haha joking…not, as cliche as it may sound, the people.

Directors of the Week are recognized every week for their phenomenal contribution to the university and success on behalf of Program Board. Get to know those who make it happen behind-the-scenes!
